~Negative Calorie Foods/Pineapple Diet?~

I was eating some fresh (not canned) pineapple this morning at my desk and thought to myself ~I wonder if there's a diet made up of ONLY pineapple..I could eat ony pineapple if I had to!~ and I found it. Pineapple, ice water, and tuna (?!) I'm not sure I'd really enjoy tuna and pineapple for a week straight but that's just me. On and off the raw food wagon for months, I'm hoping to get inspired again and figure out my happy medium.
So this morning, I had..
1 banana

1 Odwalla Strawberry/Bananna juice

1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple

I love fresh fruit. LOVE IT! So maybe I can do this pineapple thing..or something similar. I've put on 16 lbs in the last 5 or 6 months and I'm I misserable. My clothes fit and I'm sure it's not all fat as I'm skating a lot now (Roller Derby) but still..16 pounds! Here goes nothing..again!

I found this list of "Negative Calorie Foods", where your body actually burns more calories than they contain. That's kind of a cool thought..

~Day...???~

I need to admit something and what a great place to get this off my chest..since my last post on 3/29 (a week ago) I've only been about 50% raw....at first I was dissapointed in myself but now that I'm typing I'm just more empowered. A week? That's it! Now I'm back on track and going for 90-100%? Yeah...I'm not going to beat myself up. My microwave is STILL in storage, I've been making better choices and it's still an every day part of my life. But I had pizza yesterday for our all company meeting..and I felt so gross, bloated and misserable after. I still feel icky, and it messed up my "system" so to speak...
So last night, I made brown rice with sauted red pepper, carrots, onion, garlic, mushrooms, and celery. I added a bit of soy sauce to the veggies, then mixed it with the rice. On the side I made fresh green beans, also sauted. Yes...sauted...meaning un-raw..but that only means I cooked out some of the vitamins..ok MOST..but there was no butter, cream, milk, eggs, chicken, beef, preservatives, ect and I felt GOOD giving that to the girls for dinner. My thought process is, as long as I make sure they are getting plenty of raw food in their diets even if it's just through juice and smoothies (ONLY veggies and fruit, no sugar, milk, ect) then they are getting their vitamins and I can justify cooking for them a few nights a week. Plus, I know for a fact there's not that many kids that even come close to getting the amt of vitamins they should ever day. So I'm already ahead of the game.

My raw goals this week:

  • Make sure green veggies make their way into every meal/smoothie/juice
    • Stock up on Kale, Chard, Spinach
  • Send the girls with lunch from home
    • Have to get up early~another goal
  • Post in my blog EVERY day
  • Visit Raw Food Rehab at least once a day
  • Keep a record of what I eat
  • Drink 80 ounces of water a day

I think that's a pretty good list...I'm sure I'll be adding more soon.

~Day 7~

So I was bad a couple times this weekend, but it was Jamie's 11th birthday and I had cake and ice cream so it doesn't count..
Kelp & veggie wraps, green juice, water and feeling great!
The girls came home from Spring break last night to an empty kitchen. Well, empty to them. Our microwave went to storage and the boxed food, Hamburger Helper, cereals were nowhere to be found! It's not like we ate like crap all the time, I only bought whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, tried to make pasta sauce from scratch and made soup ALL the time...but it was all gone. What use to be our "go to shelf" for snacks and dinner was now full of fresh fruits and veggies, our dehydrator and the juicer, food processor and blender.
They were excited about it last night when I told them, I was shocked. Then this morning, I juice what seamed like a dozen carrots, some kiwis, a couple oranges, a few pears, some strawberries, a couple cups of spinnach and some kale. The girls LOVED it! They took it to school with them, and I'm taking Rachaell lunch this afternoon. Kelp wraps, avacado, cucumber, romaine lettuce, mung bean sprouts and carrots. MMMmmm!!!

So I'm down 5 lbs, sleeping great, loving it!

~Day 2~

Good morning! It's Day 2 of going 100% raw, I feel amazing!
I posted this below entry in my Raw Food Rehab blog, thought I'd share it here as well!

John and I went to dinner last night when I got off work. I've been wanting to try the Blossoming Lotus for a while, so tonight we went! It's Vegan, with Raw Food options. We started off with Live Nachos. These were so fabulous, I can't begin to explain. Flax seed crackers, cashew "sour cream", avacado and something else cream, green onion, walnuts mixed with some kind of "taco seasoning" and a yellow squash puree with some awesome spices that gave it a nacho cheese flavor somehow. Oh my god..just wonderful!

Then I tried the Live Grapefruit soup. It was the first time I've ever tried soup that was supposed to be served cold lol. This was so good, I asked what was in it and was told grapefruit, avacado (to make it creamy) and something else...but I can't remember now :( Oh, and basil oil on top.

John got the Live Wrap, I'll have to find out what was in those, and I had the Live Pasta, made of Zucchini "pasta", carrots, diced tomato's, a few spinnach leaves and a sause made of pesto, garlic and I'm not sure what else. It was wonderful!!

So after dinner I asked if he'd be willing to try Raw Food Only for just a week and see how that goes. He agreed! I'm still amazed by the amount of support I have from him, let alone the fact that he's willing to do it with me!

So we stopped by the grocery store and I can't remember the last time I bought so much food and NONE of it was bad for us!

So tonight we attempted so make flax seed crackers and I made cashew cream lol. The crackers are simple, rosemary garlic, soaked flax seeds, walnuts and water. I think I may have made it a bit thick, but we'll see in a few hours how they turned out.

I'm already feeling better, so excited for this new way of living and I can't wait until my girls' come home from their grandparents (Spring Break) to see how they handle it :)

So this morning's breakfast:

4 Carrots ~ Juiced
2 Apples ~ Juiced
2 Kiwi's ~ Juiced

I know I should be drinking Green Juice every morning but I'm still getting use to being alive and awake before leaving for work lol. Tomorrow for sure!

30 & 30

I'm turning 30 in 21 days, 514 hours and 30,851 minutes. I'm currently 160 lbs and while I think I happen to "carry it well" I hate how I look naked. I want to wear a bathing suit in public and be proud of how I look. I want to get down to 130 lbs, and I want to do it in a healthy way.
My 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up in June, so that's my first real goal. I'm not 100% sure yet what we're doing, but either way I KNOW I'll look good!
I'm much more educated on food now than I ever have been. But, that doesn't mean I haven't thoroughly enjoyed sitting down to a huge steak and bowl of pasta either. I have a bad habbit if snacking on junk food or grabbing that extra slice of pizza. I eat my share of fruits and veggies too, but it's time to cut out all the crap. I've decided to go raw, and I'm seriously excited about it.
My goal is to post every day. I'm sure I'll have ups and downs, but nothing's easy. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it!

Lunch today:
4 carrots ~ juiced
2 kiwi's ~ juiced
1 apple ~ juiced
1/2 stock celery ~ juiced

CW: 160
GW: 130

30 lbs to go!
